100 years of expertise and innovation
In 2023,
the CEP Group celebrates it's
100th anniversary!

Let’s start with some history…

1923
Birth of the “Corne Engrais et Plastiques” factory (Horns, Fertiliser and Plastic) in Thiers, in the heart of the Auvergne.
At the time, the company manufactured knife handles from sheep and cattle horn. This company later became the CEP Group.
2023
This company later became the CEP Group.
Established in the markets of office accessories and business equipment, but also horticulture and packaging for cosmetics and parapharmacy, CEP is today recognized as a key player in the plastic industry.
Between these two key dates, ten decades have passed.
In the early days of CEP, sheep and cattle horns were bought, sorted and sawn into semi-finished products for sale to knife handle manufacturers in Thiers.
Soon, CEP started to create kitchen utensils made of horn, such as salad servers. At the time, CEP was in direct competition with the Shell company, which is now known for its oil distribution.
CEP subsequently developed a number of products: combs, shoehorns, etc., before turning to the plastics industry in the 1930s. This growing industry allowed CEP Group to diversify.
1955
A few years later, in 1955, the first office accessories were produced, including the famous ‘basket’ waste tub that everyone knows today! This creation was a huge success with office accessory distributors but also with consumers.
Since then, CEP has continued to innovate, offering new products every year to meet the needs of consumers.
As an actor of sustainable development, CEP contributes to the protection of the environment and to the economic development of the region, while ensuring optimal working conditions for its employees.
As part of its continuous improvement policy, CEP has always sought to combine industrial performance with respect for the environment.
Within its factories, the responsible production approach includes continuous investment in low energy production tools, the choice of renewable and local electricity, as well as low water consumption manufacturing processes with the use of a closed circuit cooling station.
In addition to manufacturing 100% recyclable products, CEP Office Solutions offers them a second life through the implementation of a circular economy approach. CEP revalorises its production waste and increases the percentage of recycled materials in its manufacturing processes year after year.
The company has also set up partnerships, for example with the printing solutions provider ARMOR. The two companies have joined forces to create the Ellypse Owa range, which is made from used ink cartridges.
CEP Office Solutions has been rewarded for its commitments with the MORE label accreditation and the Ecovadis Silver Medal.
Today, the CEP Group is comprised of…
